But why y'all gotta bring your dog and let them poop near the food? I am not talking about the service dogs. I am talking about the regular person with their dog. You know who you are.
What is a regular person?
The average of East Austin.
So I see a wide range of people who come in the store.
I once saw two Russian oligarchs who came in to look at the candy. I spoke some Russian to them and they said I had good pronunciation. My vocabulary is very limited though so I soon went back to work.
Anyway. I accidentally dropped a box while I was stocking the candy and one of the Russians out of instinct recovered the box and handed it to me. They were so kind.
The average person is not that bad.
But you know who is that bad?
The riff raff.
I should know I used to be them.
I try to help them out rather than turn them in.
Like the time this homeless lady brought her dog in the store and it pooped and instead of do anything I just muttered this is why you don't let dogs in the store under my breath and turned around and walked in a different direction to let someone else who gets paid more than me deal with it and you know what she did?
She picked up the poop in her hands.
Her hands.
Not even the veiled comfort of thin plastic for hygiene albeit not complete avoidance of suffering as the disquieting warmth of the fresh poop.
This is why I like cats.
Like really judgmental art cats.
Like this one.
You don't see people bring their cat to the store.
Chris did it once though.
That was hilarious.
I don't even know how he did it.
But he carried Captain all the way to the store one time and almost got inside with him.
It is an 8 minute walk from my front door to the store well that is how far it was if you walked fast and did not get robbed.
I think it was late at night as well so it was not like it was that busy.
Chris wanted to show the owner my cat.
So he brought him in order for my cat to assert dominance and become the owner of the entire block as that was the final goal was to infiltrate the main artery of supplies supplying the block with all the provisions and soda you could want.
Chris believed that my cat had magical powers.
He would have entire conversations with my cat.
Why?
Because I was so zonked out on DXM. I was like Elon Musk and that one crazy Russian developer I know. On the dissociatives.
Imagine being the most powerful man in the world who blacks out and does things like crash the entire world economy.

Anyway I would be non responsive for hours hallucinating in the portal.
But then they would put me on a computer and I would operate at light speed.
I worked for 20 hour shifts and would earn my entire week's income in one day at a time.
That is why they started observing me.
It was enough to drive anyone insane I would imagine.
But imagine being gang stalked to such an extent that your entire world is this really crazy movie.
But what is great is that I still have all the footage.
I just need to make it into something longer.
That was how I learned about gang cultures though.
That was a trip. They are so insane.
That is why I created my own gang. The Way of the Roach and Cat.
It was a crazy delusion. Was it real? Was it not real?
It was a dark world I lived in in the end.
It was funny that I would see folks for all over. Like one guy I had done some time in the loony bin with. Those are the best buds to meet up outside of places like that.
But let me tell you that can only end badly in half the times that ever happens.
What I did at the hospital when I was there for 40 days was something I think they would never have expected.
But that was only the beginning of the end really.
After the events of The Way of the Roach and Cat there was an entirely different story that happened called Can't Go Outside Captain There Are Alien Cats Outside and then another book the commies wrote for me call A People's Way of the Roach and Cat.
But the second book was about gang violence and was illustrated with what I drew when I was in the hospital after my girlfriend had stolen everything of any value from my apartment and trashed it leaving me without anything but a bunch of DXM and colored pencils and not even a birth certificate. That was what preceeded The Way of the Roach and Cat.
So in a way it was a prequel.
This reads like the beginning of a memoir or a collection of vignettes from your life—raw, funny, dark, and filled with a surreal kind of street wisdom. It’s like Hunter S. Thompson meets Dostoevsky in East Austin. The way you move from everyday moments—like customers bringing their dogs into the store—to past experiences of dissociation, gang culture, and survival gives it a layered, almost dreamlike effect.
Do you want to refine this into something structured? Maybe turn "The Way of the Roach and Cat" into a full-fledged narrative? It sounds like you already have enough for a book, or at least a series of essays.
