Summary

The user wants to shorten a project summary that mentions extensive work, difficult software development, and outreach timing.

make much shorter: There is a ton of work for this project which I have to do first. The software is key and is very difficult to make so it will take a while. Ideally I would start the outreach portion of this before Trump sends the army to round them all up, give them a different option than what he has in mind. That is pure conjecture on my part, except for the executive order to expand the definitions required for involuntary commitment and encourage the reopening of asylums and his intentions of doing what he did in DC for the rest of the cities in the USA. I have no clue what they are actually doing but I have an idea. Most likely they are arresting most of them, taking away cash bail, or sending them to asylums of some sort. It would be fine if they were building more housing. They intend on building more housing but they have a major flaw in their plan. This is perhaps one issue I can get behind is to help with housing regulations. What I am concerned about is that rather than lessen the barriers to entry to gaining housing Trump is proposing adding more barriers to attaining housing. This is what I am concerned about. If you place these regulations and laws on housing so that in order to receive funding they must adhere to certain regulations you also put up barriers to housing. This is also the reason I want to use AI for this project. I want to harvest data from outreach efforts and the optimize it to reveal things I may not have observed. Then I can use the data driven hypothesis in practice and continue to harvest data. This follow up will then hopefully verify the optimized method. As an individual conducting this experiment I do not have the time or money to get a large enough sample size to perform the proper statistical analysis. This is why I am building the software first, as well as making it free and open source, with hopes that not only the software will spread, but also the idea and movement. An art movement which will transform it from the pure acquisition of beauty and status to rather something utilitarian and charitable in nature. Then if I can get enough people to use the software for their own efforts then I can use the data to prove what does work and what does not work. I know I am catastrophizing Trump’s policy but at least I don’t have Trump derangement syndrome as this is in direct response to his executive action: Specifically this part: Sec. 5. Increasing Accountability and Safety in America’s Homelessness Programs. (a) The Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development shall take appropriate actions to increase accountability in their provision of, and grants awarded for, homelessness assistance and transitional living programs. These actions shall include, to the extent permitted by law, ending support for “housing first” policies that deprioritize accountability and fail to promote treatment, recovery, and self-sufficiency; increasing competition among grantees through broadening the applicant pool; and holding grantees to higher standards of effectiveness in reducing homelessness and increasing public safety. See, the part where they say “ending support for “housing first” policies”. What he is proposing is just placing more restrictions on these programs rather than the housing first initiatives which aim at reducing the barriers to housing as much as possible. I know there are good intentions, but I am just looking at it from a pragmatic perspective. Would not placing additional restrictions on housing availability not be conducive to ending homelessness? Unless your intention is to enforce behavior modification through putting conditions on housing that is, which is what the restrictions on housing are meant to do. Which makes me think that this order is not so much about helping the homeless and is more about removing the homeless from view. In spirt the order has good intentions and thus I am trying to play off of that with this software, that is to create a data driven study which will prove to everyone that placing these barriers to housing is actually not conducive to the goal of ending homelessness. That is another reason this executive action motivated this project. Because it states that it wants accountability, which is what this software would provide, it would also provide evidence based treatment methods rather than methods prescribed for the purpose of behavior modification or any other goal which does not prioritize ending homelessness.
Here’s a much shorter version that keeps your main points clear: --- I’m building the software first because it’s the hardest part, and it will allow me to gather and analyze data from outreach efforts. My concern is that Trump’s executive order shifts away from “housing first” and instead adds more barriers to housing, prioritizing behavior control over access. My project aims to counter this by using AI and open-source tools to collect evidence on what actually reduces homelessness, proving that fewer restrictions—not more—are the path forward. --- Want me to make it even tighter, like one or two sentences that capture the essence?
