If you place these regulations and laws on housing so that in order to receive funding they must adhere to certain regulations you also put up barriers to housing. This is also the reason I want to use AI for this project. I want to harvest data from outreach efforts and the optimize it to reveal things I may not have observed. Then I can use the data driven hypothesis in practice and continue to harvest data. This follow up will then hopefully verify the optimized method. As an individual conducting this experiment I do not have the time or money to get a large enough sample size to perform the proper statistical analysis. This is why I am building the software first, as well as making it free and open source, with hopes that not only the software will spread, but also the idea and movement. An art movement which will transform it from the pure acquisition of beauty and status to rather something utilitarian and charitable in nature. Which makes me think that this order is not so much about helping the homeless and is more about removing the homeless from view. In spirt the order has good intentions and thus I am trying to play off of that with this software, that is to create a data driven study which will prove to everyone that placing these barriers to housing is actually not conducive to the goal of ending homelessness. That is another reason this executive action motivated this project. Because it states that it wants accountability, which is what this software would provide, it would also provide evidence based treatment methods rather than methods prescribed for the purpose of behavior modification or any other goal which does not prioritize ending homelessness.
